Understanding this problem, the Central Government has started the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to help women get rid of it.

This scheme was started by the Honorable Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi on 01 May 2016 in Ballia village of Uttar Pradesh and implemented in all the states of the country.
Till now, according to this scheme, the government has successfully provided Ujjwala gas connections to 8 crore people in the country by 2019.
After that, the government started Ujjwala Scheme 2.0, and an additional Approval for 6 crore Ujjwala gas connections was given. According to this plan, by December 2022, these new Ujjwala Yojana 2. 0 connections have been distributed.
Now till December 2022, the country’s total 9. 6 crore families have got Ujjwala free gas connections. This is a historic success for our central government.

Eligibility Criteria of Ujjwala Scheme 2.0:
- Age Limit: The female applicant must be 18 years of age.

Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0:
- Free LPG Gas Connection: Poor women in the country will be given free LPG gas connections.
2. Free Gas Cylinder & Stove: Under this scheme, every beneficiary woman will be given a cylinder and gas stove free of cost.
3. First Filled Gas Cylinder Free: According to this scheme the first. A filled gas cylinder of 5 liters will be provided free of cost.
4. Free pressure regulator and LPG hose: A pressure regulator and LPG hose will be provided with this connection.
5. Subsidy: This LPG gas connection will further get Rs.200/- subsidy on each gas cylinder.
The offline application process for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0:
- Visit Nearest Gas Distribution: The first applicant woman will have to go to her nearest gas distributor center and take the application form or can download the form and print it by visiting the official website of the Central Government www.pmuy.gov.in.
2. Get an Application Form: After that, all the information asked in that form has to be filled.
3. Attach Photo: After that, you have to paste your photo on that form and put your signature at the end.
4. Attach Necessary Documents: After that, the necessary documents of the Ujjwala scheme have to be added to that form.
5. Form Submit to Gas Distributor: After that, this form and document have to be submitted to the nearest gas distribution center.
6. Application Approval: The concerned officer will verify your application, eligibility, and documents and provide you Ujjwala gas connection in the next 10 days.

- Visit Website: The applicant has to first go to Google and visit the Central Government website www.pmuy.gov.in.
2. Find Application Link: The home page of this website will open in front of you. In this, click on apply for new ujjwala 2.0 connection in the menu.

3. Click for Apply: After that click on this link “Click Here to apply for New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection”.

4. Choose Gas Provider Merchant: After that, by applying online, a page will open in front of you in which you will get the names of the three gas companies given below.
1) Indane
2) Bharat Gas
3)HP Gas
Out of these, select the gas distribution company which is nearest to you and click on “click here to apply”.

4. Choose Your Location: After that another page will open in front of you
Click on Ujjwala Beneficiary Connection and click on location-wise below.

5. After that you will get location-wise details.
choose Your State: after that, you have to select your state.
Choose Your District: After that, you have to choose the district
Choose Your Gas Distributer: after that choose the name of your gas distribution center.
After that click on Next.

6. eKYC section: After that the eKYC section will come, tick it, and then tick My current address is the same as the address in Aadhaar.

7. Aadhar Verification: After that, you have to include your Aadhaar number and click on Generate OTP.
8. Include Captcha Code: After that the captcha code given below has to be included.
9. Include Personal Details & Ration Card Details: After that, you have to include your full name and date of birth in Your Details. In the ration card details, you have to include your state name, ration card issue date, and ration card number.


10. Residential Address: After that, in the address section, you have to include your complete residential address along with your PIN code and phone number.

11. Give It Up Section section: After that, the “Give It Up Section section” will appear in front of you, click on “no” in it.
12. Particulars of Bank Account: After that, in Particulars of the Bank Account, if your bank is linked to Aadhaar, then select Aadhaar and give your Aadhaar number or fill in all the information of your bank account i.e. ifsc code, account number, your name.

13. Choose Required LPG Gas Killogram: After that, the LPG Connection Details section will appear in which you have to choose how many kilograms of gas cylinder you want. In that, you choose 14.2 kg.

16. Proof of Address Section: Afterward, select Aadhaar again in the Proof of Address (POA) section.

17. Documents Upload Section: In this, you have to upload your Aadhar card and photo. Remember that the memory of this Aadhar card and photo file should be 300 kb or less.

18. Details of Family Members Section: After that, in the section of Details of Family Members, the information of the family members present in the ration card has to be included.

19. Self Declaration Section: Finally, tick the declaration and click on the submit button. With this, the application process for your Ujjwala Scheme 2.0 will be completed. The concerned officer will verify your application and provide you with the Ujjwal gas connection through the gas distribution center within the next 10 days.
