Step 1.: Visit your Taluka Karnataka Women & Child Development Office.
Step 2.: Write the application for the Bhagyalakshmi Bond claim.

Benefits of the Bhagyalakshmi Scheme:
Girls born after 31.07.2006 will get the benefit of this scheme.
- Protect Poor Families: The state should encourage the birth of girls in all deprived and poor families.
2. Help for Girls’ Education: To provide financial assistance for girls’ education.
3. Financial Help to the Girl’s Family: Providing financial assistance to the girl’s family.
4. Protection of the Girl: To protect the girl.
5. Insurance facility for Family: Rs 1 lakh will be provided as accident insurance to the girl’s parents.
6. Fixed Deposit for Girl: After registering for this scheme, a fixed deposit certificate of Rs. 10000/- is provided, which will be received with interest after the girl completes 18 years of age.
7. Facility for Two Girls for One Family: According to this scheme, an amount of Rs 34751/- will be provided to the firstborn girl child and Rs 40918/- to the secondborn girl child.
8. Scholarship for Girls: The girl beneficiary of this scheme will receive a scholarship every year during her education.

Increase Benefits in the Bhagy Laxmi scheme:
The Government of Karnataka has made changes in this scheme on 20.01.2009. Girls born from 01.08.2008 onwards are assured the following benefits.
- According to this scheme, the firstborn girl child will be given a fixed deposit certificate of Rs 19300/- and the second girl child will be given a fixed deposit certificate of Rs 18350/-.
2. After the beneficiary girl turns 18 years of age, the first girl child will get Rs 1,00,097/- and the second girl child will get Rs 1,00,052/-.
Class-wise Education Scholarship Benefits of Bhagyalakshmi Scheme:
- The Girl beneficiary of this scheme will get Rs. 1000 from 1st class to 3rd class students. A scholarship of Rs 300/- per year will be given.
2. Rs. 4th class to the girl student. A 400/- per year scholarship will be given.
3 . The girl student in the fifth class gets a Rs. 500/- per year scholarship will be given.
4. Girl students in classes 6th and 7th will get a Rs. 700/- per year scholarship will be given.
5. The girl student in the eighth class gets a Rs. 800/- per year scholarship will be given.
6. The girl student in class 9th and class 10th gets Rs. 1000/- per year scholarship will be given.
Eligibility Criteria of Bhagyalakshmi Scheme:
- Permanent Residency Of Karnataka: It is mandatory to be a permanent resident of Karnataka state for this scheme.
2. Born After March 2006 Girl is Eligible: Girls born in poor families after 03.2006 will get the benefit of this scheme.
3. Register Within Year: It is necessary to register for this scheme within one year after the birth of the girl child.
4. Benefits are available for Two Girls: The benefit of this scheme is limited to the birth of two girls born in poor families in the state.
5. Ineligible if mom is below 18 age: The girl registering for this scheme should not be married before the age of 18 years.
